Finding Your Best Life
Among the wide spectrum of goals to strive for, improvements to make and new learning to acquire, there will always be more possibilities for pursuit on your own interests than you have time available to accomplish. What about opportunities to respond to the needs of others? In this sermon Fr. Garrett probes the question of just how extraordinary Jesus' life of devotion to the service of others was (John 10:11-18). His view of who he could teach and heal and guide and lift up was expansive. And he spent every day praying and planning how he would accomplish these things. When we hear people encourage us to discover our best lives or best selves, nearly always they mean for us to pursue our own interests. What part of your best life and best self involves being intentional about blessing others?
