Great Expectations
God works in mysterious ways, so the saying goes. But the ways we practice Christian faith and nurture relationship with God are anything but mysterious. In this sermon, Fr. Garrett asks hearers what their expectations are for encountering God during this Advent season. When we are expectant that God will touch our lives and put ourselves in a position to experience that, through specific actions of faithfulness, it's no wonder that God seems to "show up" more often. When we have low or no expectations and regard God's presence as random and mysterious, well, our expectations tend to be met.
