Here’s a Heads-Up

Some really big events we can plan for, while others catch us completely off guard.  Surprises can be nice occasionally, but it's usually better to know what's coming. Especially when what's coming is dramatically different from what we now know. In this sermon Fr. Garrett lauds the person whose entire job is to be the messenger, prompting people to prepare themselves for a monumental shift in humanity's ability to interact with God. (John 1:6-8, 19-28) Even now, we still need messengers to remind us of our opportunity to encounter God in the everyday spaces of our lives. Here's a Heads-up: Following the example of the life of Jesus, the Christ, still leads us to a richer life than drifting on the emotional winds of the moment or continually calculating how to get ahead of others.
