Jesus Encourages Us To Move Beyond Our Comfort Zones
Jesus pointed out that what we say and how we act with others is more revealing of ourselves than keeping religious strictures, such as rules on what we eat and with whom. In today's sermon, Rev Bruce Woodcock discussed the desperate woman Jesus encountered in Lebanon, a woman who wasn't Jewish, who begged Jesus to save her dying daughter. She was reaching out past customary boundaries, and Jesus did the same in responding to her. Part of being a Christian is moving out of our comfort zones to engage beyond our typical circle.
