Treasures Thrift Shop
Treasures Thrift Shop is a regular stop for seniors, grandparents, readers, artists and crafters, teachers, theater professionals, bargain hunters, thrifty gift givers, as well as teens and young people looking for unusual, recycled or even new items.
We are proud to be a part of the movement towards environmental friendliness by giving recycled items a second life as potential “treasures” for those who to stop by and visit our lovely little shop.
Stop and say hello to our hardworking staffers. You never know what you might find on any given day. And you’ll be happy that you helped someone with your purchase, no matter how small.
In March 2008, Treasures celebrated 40 years of service to our community.
Founded by Mildred MacDonald in 1968, and reinvigorated in 1993 by the efforts of Ginger Eliasberg, Treasures is staffed by a group of dedicated, hard-working volunteers from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the surrounding community. Treasures Thrift Shop’s mission is threefold:
- To provide outreach to the wider community by providing affordable merchandise
- To raise additional funds so that St. Stephen’s can expand its outreach programs (including support of Tanzanian AIDS orphans, the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry, Friends of Karen, Canines for Combat Veterans, Fessenden House, the Rural and Migrant Ministry, The Bridge Fund of Westchester, AHOME, the Peter A. Bard Acolyte Scholarship Fund, Taconic DDSO, and the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility)
- To provide fellowship for parish members by working together toward a common goal.
Treasures gladly accepts donations of gently worn, cleaned and wearable clothing, books, CDs, artwork, jewelry, household goods, baby equipment, small furniture and decorative items. We feature a “Boutique Rack” with name brand and designer clothing, including Talbots, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and many more desirable items! Be on the lookout for our daily sales and markdowns as well as regular half-price and seasonal Five Dollar Bag sales.
Treasures is open from 10 am until 2 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from September through June.
