In ancient Athens there was no shortage of monuments and shrines to deities, including one to an “unknown God” – just to be on the safe side. In this sermon, Fr. Garrett encourages hearers to be aware of how superficial representations of Christianity can eclipse the transformative impact of an actual relationship with God. Going deeper in faith is so much more rewarding than the cliche slogans of blind faith religion or the empty calories of sound bite spirituality.
