Pushing the Boundaries
It's human nature to seek familiarity and security. Within our comfort zones things are predictable, stable. But there are also limitations. We are less likely to make new discoveries or develop new abilities. In this sermon Fr. Garrett explains how a risky encounter between an inquisitive expert in Judaism and Jesus (John 3:1-17) led to a mind bending conversation. A conversation that opened the door to a significantly different understanding of God's relationship with humanity. Do you ever put yourself in situations where you can explore beyond the boundaries of the faith that is familiar to you? When was the last time you made a new discovery about God or developed a new ability because you allowed the Holy Spirit to move you out of your comfort zone?
